Police officer arresting a young man at night

One Georgia man showed a lot of restraint after being called the N-Word by an angry white man in a road rage incident.

According to The Grio, Terrence Stover, a history teacher, and football coach told police that Eric DeKeyzer used racist comments towards him while at a stop light.

“He rolls his window down and he starts saying a lot of racial slurs and shooting me birds, middle finger and stuff like that,” explained Stover to Channel 2 News.

Stover avoided getting into a confrontation with DeKeyzer because he is a teacher and a football coach at South Gwinnett High School.

He reportedly drove into a parking lot at a shopping center where DeKeyzer used the n-word and other words of profanity towards him. Instead of getting into with him, Stover pulled his cell phone out to record the incident.

“You called me a n***** for no reason,” said Stover in the video. DeKeyzer replies, “Yeah because I knew it would get a f***ing rise out of you because you’re acting like one.”

The video provided enough evidence for police to arrest DeKeyzer and charge him with road rage.

“It’s shocking that it was so blatant. It’s wrong and it’s hurtful,” explained Stover. He says he handled the situation the same way he’s taught his students would.

“I teach my kids not to fight unless you’re defending yourself,” said Stover. “I just pray people think before they do.”
