Oscar winning actress Octavia Spencer will play Madam C.J. Walker for an upcoming Netflix series. The eight-episode series drama is based on the book “On Her Own Ground” by A’Lelia Bundles. Octavia is bringing the story of the first black self-made female millionaire haircare mogul Madam C.J. Walker, who’s real name was Sarah Breedlove to the streaming service. It will also be executive produce by LA Lakers, LeBron James. There no releases date for the series yet.
