After a three day journey on foot from Washington D.C. to Philadelphia, Mike D’angelo was at the Quincy Harris Morning Show with K. Foxx by 7am to share his story with the city of Philadelphia.

With his flag and t-shirt on honoring his 10-year-old niece Makiyah Wilson, Mike explained his reasoning for taking the journey and what he hopes to accomplish. He talked about how he had to walk extra miles because it was to unsafe to walk on the highways, the people he encountered on his journey, and the physical toll it took on his body, but that it’s “what God told him he needed to do.”

He also shared that he will be flying out to California to walk to the Golden Gate bridge to Oakland in honor of Nia Wilson, as well as his relationship he has with one of Philadelphia’s most inspiring figures @Wallo267.

Towards the end of the interview, Quincy even offers him a gift card to a massage & treatment establishment that he had in his wallet, but Mike kindly declined, and asked him to donate it to a mother out in the area that deserves it more.

Mike told us he lives by the motto to “Be Legendary” everyday, and even through these trying times, he’s using it as his mission to spread awareness around the country.

“So many kids lost their life in the district and i feel like now is the time that somebody step up and just try to make a stand, do something legendary that people remember no matter what you can think twice about squeezing that trigger.”

We commend you Mike, and will keep all our listeners updated on his next journey. #WalkForMakiyah
