Now this is totally ridiculous and outrageous! A Texas teacher and school district is under fire after a black student’s haircut design was colored in using a black sharpie!

The move and decision infuriated the student’s parents, who say they were never contacted prior to the school taking matters into their own hands!

According to an article in Bossip, the Assistant Principal Tony Barcelona sent the 7th grade student to discipline clerk Helen Day for being “out of dress code”. Day gave the student an ultimatum, take an in-school SUSPENSION or get his part colored in with a black marker. Fearing that a suspension would get him kicked off the track team, he allowed the school to use the Sharpie to color in the design lines, they say were out of dress code!

The family says this caused their son embarrassment and to be humiliated.  They also claim in a lawsuit, that “The haircut did not depict anything violent, gang-related, obscene or otherwise offensive or inappropriate in any manner and that they did not believe the haircut violated any school policy,”.
