The Celina Independent School District is expanding the number of random drug tests it performs on students. The test will expanded to students who drive to school and who participate in extracurricular activities. Parents were notified about the expansion of the random drug testing policy, last February. Celina High School Principal Bill Hemby says drug testing expansion encourages students to say “no to drugs and if a student tests positive, they will be required to retest each time drug testing occurs at the school.” The student have to also meet with counselors with the Collin County Substance Abuse Program.
