Here’s Why I-635 Was Closed Tuesday Morning
According to Dallas Police, I-635 was closed for hours Tuesday morning after a Dallas man was arrested for a multi-vehicle accident, stabbing a bystander, and stealing and attacking others with his car.
Reportedly three people were hospitalized as a result of the incident, which caused a massive traffic jam on one of North Texas’ busiest highway according to WFAA.
According to the Texas Department of Transportation, all of the highway’s westbound main lanes and two shoulder lanes were shut at Forest Lane.

Police stated a suspect in the crash began confronting one of the other drivers. Another driver intervened and attempted to stop the fight, but was stabbed by the suspect, police said.
Around the same time, a Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) employee noticed the incident and stopped to help. The suspect then entered the TxDOT employee’s car, struck the employee, and crashed, according to authorities.
Another car noticed the TxDOT employee being hit and stopped to assist. The suspect then entered the driver’s vehicle and hit him, according to authorities.
When the suspect fled his vehicle, several bystanders were able to restrain him until police came, officials added.
