Peaceful protests quickly turned into a destructive night in the city after four police officers were shot downtown St. Louis early Tuesday.

2,000 protestors marched with police officers in St. Louis Monday to protest the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis. However, when night fell, things got more violent.

According to authorities, around midnight four male officers were shot near 16th and Olive streets. All seemed to be conscious and injuries were not life-threatening.

At the Hayden news conference about 1:45 a.m. it was announced that two officers were shot in the leg, one was shot in the foot and one more was shot in the arm.
