Before she hears her name called during the 2025 WNBA Draft going down at The Shed on Monday, April 14, Aneesah Morrow was spreading love, the Raising Cane’s way in NYC.
Friday at the double-double queen and LSU Tigers standout and projected top 10 pick, Aneesah Morrow, participated in a pre-WNBA Draft “shift” at Raising Cane’s Astor Place in New York.
Morrow hopped behind the counter and dished out Raising Cane’s signature Big Box combos to fans like assists, signed merchandise, and took selfies as well.

Morrow even hopped in the kitchen to prepare the Louisiana-based fast food chain’s signature chicken tenders, fries, and Raising Cane’s Texas toast.

During the event, Morrow participated in a small press conference with invited media, including CassiusLife’s Pop Culture and Men’s Lifestyle writer Bernard “Beanz” Smalls.
Morrow, who racked up accolades during her impressive collegiate career, such as being named USA Today’s SEC Player of the Year, SEC Defensive Player of the Year, SEC All-Defensive Team, the only unanimous All-SEC First-Team selection, and Women’s Basketball Coaches Association All-America, answered a range of questions.

Morrow Is Looking Forward To Playing Against Angel Reese
During the mini scrum, Morrow was asked about going up against her former LSU teammate, Angel Reese.
“Angel helped me a lot at LSU, especially at boards. It’ll be interesting playing against her and seeing how we’ve changed,” Morrow said. “Being with Angel every day at practice and seeing the media impact and how she handled it, I really learned a lot from her.”

Morrow Loved Being An LSU Tiger
She was also asked about the end of her collegiate career and heading into the WNBA.“I didn’t want my last game as a Tiger to be my last. Right before I got subbed out, I had to let it sink in. I tried not to be sad and told myself what I’ve done over the past two years has been incredible,” said Morrow. “There are times when you sit back and see if you’ll be able to play, and especially with me and all my injuries, it was a lot.”

“It’s great being a part of a women’s sports legacy. I’ve been able to play during a time when more people are engaged,” said Morrow. “I’m excited and a little nervous for the Draft but am just trying to enjoy the moment. My Draft fit isn’t ready yet – I’m going to try not to cry and ruin my makeup!”
Morrow Is Ready To Bring Her Game To The WNBA

Morrow isn’t a one-trick pony on the court; she can score when called upon, but like her former teammate Angel Reese, she is a beast on the boards. We asked her how that would translate into the WNBA.
“Of course, I never go away from my craft, and that’s rebounding the basketball. I feel like there’s no negative to rebounding the basketball and getting extra possessions for your team, so I’m trying to stay with that, “Morrow said. “know that it takes a certain hunger and grit before every game; it’s hard to do; if it was easy, everyone would be able to do it. I stay the course, stay to my game, be able to dominate, and come in with that mindset. ”

Morrow is not the only LSU player who has teamed up with Raising Cane’s. LSU sophomore guard Mikaylah Williams served up ONE LOVE in Baton Rouge ahead of March Madness by working a “shift” at Raising Cane’s first Restaurant.
Raising Cane’s founder, Todd Graves, spoke about Aneesah and her WNBA future.
“I’m proud of Aneesah and the entire LSU women’s basketball program for another great season,” said Raising Cane’s owner and founder Todd Graves. “Aneesah has been an incredible asset to LSU over the past couple seasons and I know she’ll do great things in the WNBA. I’ll be cheering her on Monday night and beyond as she takes this exciting next step. Go Tigers!”
