Sycamore Brewing Co-Founder Files for Divorce After Husband’s Arrest

Sycamore Brewing co-founder Sarah Taylor has filed for divorce from her husband of nearly 20 years, Justin Brigham, less than a month after his arrest on multiple child sex charges, The Charlotte Observer reports.
Court records show Taylor filed the divorce complaint on Jan. 8 in Mecklenburg County. The filing seeks custody and child support for the couple’s child, born in 2016, along with alimony, post-separation support, attorney’s fees, and an equitable division of marital assets. Taylor is also seeking control of assets connected to Sycamore Brewing, the company the couple founded together.
Brigham, 44, is currently being held at the Stanly County Detention Center in Albemarle. He was arrested Dec. 11 and charged days later with multiple felonies, including statutory sex offense with a child under 15, sexual exploitation of a minor, solicitation of a child by computer, and assault inflicting serious bodily injury. Authorities say the case involves a 13-year-old girl. He now faces more than a dozen felony charges.
According to the divorce filing, Taylor and Brigham separated immediately following his arrest, after Taylor learned of the allegations. Taylor previously announced she had removed Brigham from any involvement with Sycamore Brewing following the arrest.
