Just announced Jennifer Hudson will play the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin in the upcoming biopic about the singers life. During Clive Davis’s Per-Grammy party on Saturday, Clive told the audience of J-Hud’s new role. The Queen of Soul approved of her since she hand-picked Jennifer to play her, in her life story. The film will be based on Aretha’s 1998 memoir, “Aretha: From These Roots.” There’s no word on who will direct the film but let’s just hope director Ava DuVernay is available.
