Hip-hop lost a major piece of it’s foundation yesterday with the passing of the legendary Lovebug Starski. He suffered a massive heart attack, and passed away in Las Vegas, NV. He was just 57 years old.

Starski’s contribution to the culture is literally immeasurable, as it came mostly pre-record hip-hop. A man who would MC, and DJ at the same time, he also set the tone for what a lot of popular MC’s of his era would do. “Ba-diddy-ba-da-dang-da-dang”, “Hip, a hop, a hip to the hippy to the hip hip hop and ya dont stop”, Starski did those things first. On Instagram, Grandmaster Caz of the Cold Crush Brothers posted simply “RIP my big brother”. This is truly an earth shattering day in hip-hop for those who adore and study it’s history.

“Put your hand on your hip and let your backbone slip …….”
