Today Netflix released the biopic “Roxanne Roxanne”, about legendary Queensbridge MC Roxanne Shante. It’s an in depth, often disturbing look about a teenage girls struggle, and survival, during hip-hop’s early 80’s era. Shante’s story is one of perseverance and the film does a good job of getting that across. There are some really cool scenes (Nas), and a funny cameo by Ad-Rock of the Beastie Boys. A must see, even if just once, for all hip-hop heads. Watch it, like it, share it. That way they continue to make these films. Preserve the culture. It’s out NOW!
