Happy 78th Birthday to amazingly talented pianist, keyboardist, bandleader, composer and actor Herbie Hancock. Rockit, from his 1983 album Future Shock , is one of the songs he’s best know for. I can’t, lie. This video used to creep me out a bit when I was younger…and it kinda still does. It’s unique to say the least and the song peaked at #1 on US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play

Also his film work in the 80’s was prolific! He did the scores to A Soldier’s Story (1984), Jo Jo Dancer, Your Life Is Calling (1986), Action Jackson, Colors (1988), and Harlem Nights (1989).
He is still working and receiving award to this day!
