A man out of Virginia has been charged with impersonating an officer after he was caught following a woman across three state lines in a fake police car.

On April 7, a woman called 911 when she noticed she was being followed by a car with “police markings” and became concerned for her safety according to Fox 5 NewsThe car had flashing lights and weaved through traffic to keep up with her.

Jerry Lentz Saintvil, 28, was stopped by a Sherriff of the Fauquier County Police Department for a traffic stop. When asked about the car Saintvil said the car was used for music video shoot.

Police charged him with, “impersonating a police officer, false ID to law enforcement to avoid arrest and driving on a suspended license.” Saintvil has been charged with impersonating an officer before.

The white and blue 2010 Chevrolet Impala had the word “police” on the doors and trunk with a license late marked “FILM CAR.” Inside officers found a tactical vest marked with a “special police” badge, a DOJ badge with a Department of Justice pin, ammunition carriers and a flash light attached to the vest, a police-deputy belt, airsoft gun and radio.

According to Sgt. James Hartman, “No actual real firearms so to speak, but an airsoft gun displayed in a certain situation could be mistaken for a real firearm and could lead to injury or death.”

The owner of the car was contacted and did not cooperate with authorities.
