It’s day four of my 12 Days of Christmas Cookies! Sometimes Santa wants something besides another holiday cookies, so on the fourth day of Christmas Cookies. Spiced Cupcakes with Creamcheese Frosting


1 stick butter, softened

1 cup sugar

1 egg

½ cup sour cream

1 tsp. vanilla extract

½ tsp. ground nutmeg

1 tsp. ground cinnamon

2 cups flour

1 tsp. baking powder

1tsp. salt



1 stick butter, softened

8oz. cream cheese, softened

1 tsp. vanilla extract

4 cups powder sugar




  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar. Mix in egg, apple butter, sour cream and vanilla.
  3. In a medium bowl, mix together flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking powder and salt.
  4. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients.
  5. Put cupcake papers into tins. Bake 25-27 minutes or until cooked through.
  6. Transfer to rack and allow to cool completely before frosting.
  7. Using a mixer, whip butter and cream cheese for 2 minutes.
  8. Add powdered sugar 1 cup at a time, mixing for 1 minute between each addition.
  9. Mix 1-2 more minutes or until light and fluffy.
  10. Refrigerate cupcakes until ready to eat.
