It’s official, the word is out! Eddie Murphy will be returning as Prince Akeen in the sequel to the 1988 hit comedy ‘Coming to America.’ “After many years of anticipation, I’m thrilled that Coming to America 2 is officially moving forward,” Eddie said in a statement. Black-ish creator, Kenya Barris is set to write the script and Craig Brewer will direct the sequel. In ‘Coming to America 2’, Prince Akeen learns he has a long lost son and he has to return to America to meet his heir to the throne. Also returning the original cast of Arsenio Hall, Shari Headley, John Amos, and James Earl Jones as the king. There’s no start date, but production will begin this year.
