Fans of Black-ish are questioning why is Rainbow mother on the new series Mixed-ish is darker than actress on Black-ish who plays Rainbow mother. Tike Sumpter was cast as Rainbow’s mother in this upcoming series and now fans are wondering is this a case of a A Reverse Aunt Viv. Rainbow’s mother has been portrayed by actress Anna Deveare Smith, who is a light-skinned Black woman. And while that fact has been comforting to some people, others still can’t quite get over it.
