Jussie Smollett and Jurnee Smollett-Bell are allegedly shopping around a movie about a wrongfully accused brother and sister. A source close to the siblings says the two are developing a film and are seeking directors to work on the project. A unidentified source also reveals, the new movie may be loosely based on Jussie’s hate crime and the allegations that his incident was made up. All charges against the Empire actor were suddenly dropped weeks after the alleged incident.
Now the city of Chicago, is seeks $130,000 in damages from the actor to compensate for all the police manpower it required to solve his alleged hoax. Detectives were paid for$1,836 hours in overtime. A status hearing is scheduled for Oct. 22.
