CVS Pulls Popular Heartburn Medicine, Zantac

If you suffer from heartburn you may want to hear this because CVS Pharmacy has stopped selling Zantac!  CVS has decided to pull the heartburn medication as well as its generic version, over concerns that they might contain a substance that could cause cancer.

CVS, which is the largest pharmacy chain in the country, said over the weekend it was suspending sale of Zantac and other products until further notice.

According to the US Food and Drug Administration, earlier this month, it was learned that some ranitidine, acid-reducing and heartburn medicines, including those known by the brand name Zantac,  could cause cancer!
