Leaders of faith and businesses in the city of St. Louis are outraged about the treatment of African-Americans in the city and are having an economic boycott.
Fox 2 Now reports that Rev. Dinah Tatman is responsible for putting the boycott together. She feels that African-Americans are brutally mistreated by police and receive “criminalization and harsh sentencing.”

“As of today Thursday, November 2, 2017, we will be withdrawing our financial support from any entities that do not respect us or our purchasing power. Instead, we will be redistributing our monies to support and build our OWN businesses, schools, and communities.”
Tateman has also expressed the city’s efforts to lessen voting rights for Black people and using political redistricting to carry it out.
Since September 15, 2017, St. Louis has seen several protests after the trial and acquittal of former police officer Jason Stockley for first-degree murder in the death of a Black man.
