Gov. Greg Abbott announced Monday morning STAAR testing requirements for the 2019-2020 school year have been waved, according to a news release Monday morning.
He also requested that the Department of Education waive federal testing requirements for the school year as well as communities across the country deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Many Dallas Ft. Worth schools are canceled at this time to extended Spring Break out due to concerns over the coronavirus spreading.
