According to a new study, Americans are spending less on Christmas gifts this holiday season. CreditCard.com reports that a survey of 1,100 adults in the US are thinking twice about using their credit cards. Most are planning on spend less $100 on holiday gifts. Americans are being frugal for the Christmas seasons. Most Americans don’t see a raise anytime in their future. And when you don’t think you are going to make more money in the next year, it will make you less likely to spend big on the holiday,” says Matt Schulz, CreditCards.com’s senior analyst. Since US consumer debt is growing by a half-trillion dollars each year, the stress is taking its toll.
