Monday evening, dozens gathered in Dallas, holding signs and waving flags as locals began an Anti-Ice protest on Margaret Hunt Hill.

Police informed protesters that the gathering was considered an “unlawful assembly” before they forced protesters into the streets. Despite the chaotic scene, there were no reports of any protesters being arrested from Monday night.

According to reports, Law enforcement used various weapons like tear gas, fast bangs and rubber bullets to control the crowd.

In Los Angeles, riots began Friday after President Trump’s crackdown on immigration. The National Guard was activated in a state without permission from that state’s governor for the first time in 60 years, initiated by Trump. They’re sending around 700 marines to Los Angeles to protect property and personnel.

“The system has been broken for a while,” Immigration Attorney Hussein Sadruddin said, adding that he’s seen an emphasis on mass deportation and noticing how individuals who are legally seeking relief are now being targeted.

As of January 26, ICE Dallas reported 84 targets arrested that day. However, there have been changes in the Dallas ICE administration so moving forward it’ll be unclear comparing data to past years.

However, they did share on social media platforms highlighting some deportation numbers: 122 Illegal immigrants from China, 96 men and 26 women from ages 19-68. A few of them were convicted due to prior crimes of rape, murder, and trafficking.

Dallas is allowing its citizens to peacefully protest, acknowledging and respecting people’s constitutional rights to express their opinions. As a result of this, there will be officers on the streets of Dallas every day to remove “the most egregious criminal aliens.”
