22 years ago today in 1996, Will Smith‘s “Independence Day” opened in theaters. It made over $800 million at the box office.
The following year in November, he released his debut solo album (minus DJ Jazzy Jeff, although he did work on the album) Big Willie Style. It reached the top ten on Billboard 200 and later became a certified multi-platinum in a number of regions and countries. There were five singles from the album: “Men in Black“, “Just Cruisin’“, “Gettin’ Jiggy wit It“, “Miami” and this one about his son, “Just the Two of Us“.
Will Smith was, still is, and always will be winning. He’s an ICON Livin’.
